UCP Rock Camp 2007
Here are some highlights from this year’s Rock Camp at United Church Preschool in Chapel Hill. It was a tougher crowd this year, despite the additions of Jenny Waters and Rob Munk to the Rock Camp house band, which was dubbed “Electric Shark Fertilizer” in an intense brainstorming session with the kids. But once Electric Shark Fertilizer found our groove they were eating out of our hands. And no doubt extremely hyperactive for the rest of the day.
The band played a few numbers to warm up (and terrify, in some cases) the crowd of 3- and 4-year olds. Our setlist:
Rock You Like A Hurricane
Back In Black
For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)
I broke a string during “Hurricane” but the band managed to recover and even turned it into a valuable lesson for the young future musicians. Then the kids took over the instruments and showed us how it’s done.
Lee and Jenny “Work Clothes” Waters work out their pre-show jitters.
Rob Munk = audience captivation. Rob was flown in for the event and really pulled off one of his best performances

Ed Slanker and Rob Munk hand out the official complementary merch as young Nigel Slanker grins wickedly.
Prolific jam session.
