I was in New York for a few days this summer and was able to check out David Byrne’s Playing the Building Installation. An old pump organ serves as the interface to this large-scale instrument, and its keys are wired to solenoids and motors mounted on various parts of the structure of this amazing, empty ferry building. You can read more about the installation here.
